actually (adverb)
Actually is used to emphasize that something is a real fact or the truth, often contrasting with what was thought or said. It can also be used to introduce a surprising piece of information or to gently correct someone.
"I thought he was joking, but he actually resigned."
Think of the word 'ACT'. If someone is 'ACTing', you might want to know what is 'ACTually' happening behind the scenes....
Using 'actually' to mean 'currently'. → I am currently living in New York.
Pronouncing it as 'ak-tu-al-ly'. → Pronounce it as 'ak-chu-al-ly'.
