병치하다 (verb)
To place two or more things side by side, often to compare or contrast them. It is a common technique in literature, art, and film.
"작가는 도시와 농촌의 삶을 병치하여 보여준다."
Think of two 'B's (Byeong) standing next to each other in a 'Chi' (Chair). You are placing them side by side.
Using '병치하다' for simple arrangement. → 배치하다
Saying '사과를 병치했다' (without another object). → 사과와 배를 병치했다.
