Real Conditionals
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use the First Conditional to talk about real possibilities in the future by pairing a present tense condition with a future result.
- Use '-sa/-se' suffix for the condition: 'Егер келсең, барамыз' (If you come, we will go).
- The result clause usually takes the future tense: 'Мен оны көремін' (I will see him).
- The order can be swapped: 'Барамыз, егер келсең' (We will go if you come).
Meanings
The first conditional is used to express a real or very likely situation in the future. It links a condition that must be met with a predictable outcome.
Future Prediction
Predicting a likely outcome based on a condition.
“Егер ол келсе, біз кетеміз.”
“Егер уақыт болса, мен оқимын.”
Warning/Advice
Using the conditional to warn someone of consequences.
“Егер кешіксең, ұшақтан қаласың.”
“Егер тамақ ішпесең, ауырасың.”
Negotiation
Setting terms for an agreement.
“Егер сен көмектессең, мен де көмектесемін.”
“Егер бағаны түсірсеңіз, мен сатып аламын.”
