Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use 'щях да' + verb to describe an action that was planned or expected in the past but didn't necessarily happen.
- Use 'щях' (imperfect of 'ща') + 'да' + present tense verb: 'Щях да уча' (I was going to study).
- For negatives, add 'не' before 'щях': 'Не щях да ходя' (I didn't want to go/wasn't going to go).
- For questions, use the standard interrogative structure: 'Щеше ли да дойдеш?' (Were you going to come?).
