Learners often try to use 'кім' (who) like in English. In Kazakh, we use a participle before the noun instead of a relative pronoun after it.

Wrong: Адам кім келді (The man who came)
Richtig: Келген адам

When the relative clause is the subject of 'ұнайды', the whole phrase must be in the nominative, and the experiencer needs the dative 'маған'.

Wrong: Мен оқыған кітапты ұнайды (I like the book I read)
Richtig: Маған өзім оқыған кітап ұнайды

Word order inside the clause matters. The person doing the action comes first, then the verb, then the noun being described.

Wrong: Жазатын хат мен (The letter writing me)
Richtig: Мен жазатын хат (The letter I write)
