  • Infinitive -> Present Form

Häufige Fehler

In English, we say 'I am doing'. In Norwegian, you don't use 'er' as a helper verb for the present progressive. Just use 'gjør' alone.

Wrong: Jeg er gjør lekser.
Richtig: Jeg gjør lekser.

Students often forget the 'r' at the end of 'sier'. Even though 'si' is short, the present tense still requires that final 'r' sound.

Wrong: Han si hei.
Richtig: Han sier hei.

Using the infinitive 'å være' instead of the conjugated form 'er'. 'Være' is 'to be', while 'er' is 'am/is/are'.

Wrong: Jeg være glad.
Richtig: Jeg er glad.
