Colors and Sizes: Describing with 'To Be'
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
In Armenian, you describe things by placing the adjective before the noun or using the verb 'to be' (em) at the end.
- Use 'em' (I am) at the end of the sentence: 'The apple is red' -> 'Խնձորը կարմիր է' (Khndzory karmir e).
- Adjectives do not change form based on gender in Armenian.
- For negatives, add 'չ' (ch) before the verb: 'The apple is not red' -> 'Խնձորը կարմիր չէ' (Khndzory karmir che).

This rule explains how to use adjectives to describe the physical properties like color and size of a subject using the copula.
