Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

To negate the Aorist, simply place the particle 'не' directly before the conjugated verb form.

  • Place 'не' before the verb: 'не купих' (I didn't buy).
  • The verb remains in the Aorist form: 'не отидох' (I didn't go).
  • In questions, 'не' stays attached to the verb: 'Не отиде ли?' (Didn't you go?).

The negation of the Aorist tense is used to express that a completed action in the past did not occur.
