Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
When reporting what someone said in the past, shift the verb tense one step back to match the reporting time.
- Present tense becomes past: 'On kaže: Radim' -> 'Rekao je da je radio.'
- Past tense becomes pluperfect: 'Rekao je: Radio sam' -> 'Rekao je da je bio radio.'
- Future tense uses 'bi' or 'će' depending on the perspective: 'Radit ću' -> 'Rekao je da će raditi.'
Meanings

Simultaneous Action
Reporting an action that was happening at the same time as the original statement.
