Using Present Continuous for Temporary Actions
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use the Present Continuous to describe actions happening at this exact moment by adding the suffix '-ছি' to the verb root.
- Add '-ছি' for first-person (আমি খাচ্ছি - I am eating).
- Add '-ছ' for informal second-person (তুমি খাচ্ছ - You are eating).
- Add '-ছে' for third-person (সে খাচ্ছে - He/She is eating).
Meanings
The Present Continuous tense describes actions that are currently in progress at the time of speaking.
Current Action
Actions happening at the exact moment of speech.

Actions happening around this time, but not necessarily this second.
