🎯

The Prefix Test

If you have a list, underline the first two letters of every word. If they aren't the same (me-, di-, pe-), you probably have a parallelism error.

🎯

The 'Para' Rule

If you use 'para', 'semua', or a number, stop! Don't double the noun. It's the #1 sign of a beginner.

Häufige Fehler

The list switches from verbs (me-) to a noun (pe-an). Parallelism requires all items to be verbs.

Wrong: Tugas kita adalah mendidik, mengajar, dan perlindungan.
Richtig: Tugas kita adalah mendidik, mengajar, dan melindungi.

A rhetorical question is more powerful when it doesn't wait for a literal answer, often using 'bukankah'.

Wrong: Apakah kita ingin sukses? Ya, kita ingin.
Richtig: Bukankah kita semua ingin sukses?

Overusing simple repetition ('sangat') is weak. C1 speakers should use metaphors (majas) for impact.

Wrong: Dia sangat sangat sangat marah sekali.
Richtig: Kemarahannya meluap-luap bagaikan api yang membakar.

Next Steps

You are transitioning from being a speaker to being an orator. Your ability to manipulate language for impact is truly impressive. Keep practicing these patterns!
