Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use the Imperfetto Subjunctive with the Conditional Present to talk about unlikely or hypothetical situations in the present.
- If-clause uses 'se' + Imperfetto Congiuntivo: 'Se avessi tempo...'
- Main clause uses Condizionale Presente: '...andrei al mare.'
- The order can be flipped: 'Andrei al mare se avessi tempo.'
