Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Lao verbs never change form; simply add time markers or context to express the present simple tense.
- Verbs stay the same: 'ຂ້ອຍກິນ' (I eat) / 'ລາວກິນ' (He eats).
- Add time words for clarity: 'ຂ້ອຍກິນເຂົ້າທຸກມື້' (I eat rice every day).
- Use 'ບໍ່' before the verb for negatives: 'ຂ້ອຍບໍ່ກິນ' (I do not eat).
