Croatian verbs come in pairs: one for ongoing actions (imperfective) and one for completed actions (perfective).

  • Use Imperfective for habits or ongoing actions: 'Čitam knjigu' (I am reading a book).

  • Most verbs have a partner; learn them together as a set.

Verb aspect describes whether an action is viewed as an ongoing process or a completed event.
