Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
To ask a negative question in Bengali, simply add 'না' (na) after the verb or at the end of the sentence.
- Use 'কি' (ki) at the start or middle to signal a question: 'তুমি কি যাবে না?' (Won't you go?)
- Place 'না' (na) after the verb to negate: 'সে কি খায় না?' (Doesn't he eat?)
- Intonation rises at the end of the sentence for questions: 'তুমি কি আসছ না?' (Are you not coming?)
