In Egypt, 'Rawqān' is often tied to the 'Ahwa' (street cafe). It's a masculine-dominated space where the goal is to reach a state of 'Saltana' through tea, backgammon, and conversation. The Lebanese 'Rawāq' is famously associated with the morning ritual of drinking coffee while listening to Fairuz. It is considered a sacred start to the day. In the Gulf, 'Rawqān' is often found in the 'Majlis' or during desert camping (Kashta), where the vastness of the desert provides the ultimate mental clarity. Jordanians use 'Rawqān' to describe the feeling of 'Bal mirtāh' (a comfortable mind), often achieved through a long drive in the mountains or a quiet evening with family.
