فلسفی
When you see the word فلسفی (falsafi), think about big ideas and deep thoughts. It describes things connected to philosophy, which is like asking 'why' about everything – why we exist, what is true, what is good.
For example, if someone is having a conversation about life's meaning, you could say it's a falsafi discussion. Or if a book explores deep questions, it's a falsafi book.
It helps us describe ideas, books, or even people who like to think deeply about fundamental questions.
When you're learning a language, especially at the B1 level, you start encountering words that describe more abstract concepts. "فلسفی" (falsafi) is a great example of this.
It means 'philosophical' and helps you talk about ideas, books, or discussions that deal with philosophy. Think of it as a way to expand your vocabulary beyond everyday objects and actions.
Mastering words like this shows you're moving towards more complex conversations in Persian.
§ What Does 'فلسفی' Mean?
- DEFINITION
- Relating or devoted to the study of philosophy.
The Persian word فلسفی (falsafi) is an adjective. Think of it as the English word "philosophical." It's used to describe things that have to do with philosophy, big ideas, deep thinking, or even someone who spends a lot of time pondering life's mysteries.
You'll often hear فلسفی when people are talking about:
- Philosophical books or texts: If a book discusses deep theories about existence, knowledge, values, etc., it's a کتاب فلسفی (ketāb-e falsafi – philosophical book).
- Philosophical discussions: A conversation that goes beyond everyday topics and delves into profound questions is a بحث فلسفی (bahs-e falsafi – philosophical discussion).

It's a straightforward word, but it opens up a world of more complex conversations. Mastering it will help you understand and participate in discussions that go beyond basic pleasantries in Persian.

This translates to: "He always speaks philosophical words/talks." You might say this about someone who frequently brings up deep, thought-provoking topics in conversation.
این فیلم دارای مفاهیم فلسفی عمیقی است. (īn fīlm dāraye mafāhīm-e falsafi-ye amīqī ast.)
