Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Greek verbs focus on the 'how' of an action: continuous (Present/Imperfect) or a single, completed point (Aorist).

  • Use Present for ongoing habits: 'Διαβάζω κάθε μέρα' (I read every day).
  • Use Aorist for one-time events: 'Διάβασα το βιβλίο' (I read the book).
  • The Aorist often adds a 'σ' to the stem: 'λύνω' (I solve) -> 'έλυσα' (I solved).
Present: 〰️ (Continuous) | Aorist: 📸 (Completed)
