Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Transform verbs or adjectives into abstract nouns by adding the 'PeN-...-an' circumfix to describe processes, tools, or results.

  • Use 'PeN-an' for abstract concepts: 'ajar' (teach) -> 'pengajaran' (teaching).
  • Use 'PeN-an' for tools/agents: 'tulis' (write) -> 'penulisan' (the act of writing).
  • Follow nasalization rules: 'p' becomes 'm', 's' becomes 'ny', 'k' becomes 'ng'.
