Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Slovak word order isn't about grammar; it's about what we already know (Theme) versus what is new (Rheme).
- Theme (known info) usually comes at the start of the sentence.
- Rheme (new info) is placed at the end to emphasize it.
- Intonation follows the Rheme; the most important word gets the stress.
