Presente Perfecto: Conectando Pasado y Presente (Yo he hecho)
pasado y tu presente, contando experiencias y resultados actuales de forma natural.
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
The Present Perfect acts as a bridge, connecting a past action to the present moment through its result or duration.
- Use 'have/has' + past participle for life experiences without a specific date (e.g., 'I have visited Rome').
- Use it for actions that started in the past and continue now (e.g., 'She has lived here for years').
- Use it for recent actions with a visible present result (e.g., 'I have lost my keys, so I can't enter').
Overview
Subject + have/has + past participle |I have seen that movie.
Subject + have/has + Past Participle.- Usamos
haveparaI, you, we, they. - Usamos
haspara la tercera persona del singular:he, she, it.
I have→I'veShe has→She's(Cuidado aquí:She'spuede serShe isoShe has.
not después del auxiliar.I have not→I haven'tHe has not→He hasn't
Have/Has + Subject + Past Participle?Have you finished the report?(¿Has terminado el informe?)Has she called you?(¿Te ha llamado ella?)
-ed(work→worked). - Para verbos irregulares, debemos usar la
tercera columnade la lista de verbos (go→went→gone). Como hispanohablantes, este es el punto donde debemos esforzarnos más, ya que un participio mal usado (I have sawen lugar deI have seen) es un error muy notorio.
- Experiencias de vida (Life Experiences):
ever para preguntar y never para negar.I've traveled to Japan twice.(He viajado a Japón dos veces). Have you ever eaten ceviche?(¿Alguna vez has comido ceviche?).
Present Perfect con for o since.I have lived here for two years.(Vivo aquí desde hace dos años / He vivido aquí por dos años). She has worked at the bank since 2015.(Ella trabaja en el banco desde 2015).
- Resultados presentes de acciones recientes:
just (acabar de).I've just finished my workout.(Acabo de terminar mi entrenamiento). Estás sudando, el resultado es visible. They have already arrived.(Ellos ya han llegado). Están aquí ahora.
- Tiempo no terminado (Unfinished Time Word):
today, this month, this year.I've had three cups of coffee today.(He tomado tres tazas de café hoy).
- Error:
I am a teacher since 2010. - Correcto:
I have been a teacher since 2010. - Por qué pasa: En español decimos
Soy profesor desde.... Traducimos literalmente elsoyporam. Recuerda: si hay unsinceo unfor, casi siempre necesitas elPresent Perfect.
- 1Usar el Present Perfect con tiempos terminados:
- Error:
I've seen him yesterday. - Correcto:
I saw him yesterday.
Lo he visto ayer

Beenvs.Gone:
- Error:
My mom has gone to the supermarket (and now she's cooking here). - Correcto:
My mom has been to the supermarket.
- 1Confundir

I've lived here since two months. - Correcto:
I've lived here for two months. - Regla de oro:
Since+ punto específico en el tiempo (Monday,Christmas,2010).For+ duración o cantidad de tiempo (two hours, five years,a long time).
Present Perfect y Simple Past. |I've lost my passport! (No lo tengo ahora). | I lost my passport, but I found it. (Ya pasó). |Have you seen that movie? (¿La conoces?). | Did you see that movie last night? Gabriel García Márquez wrote many books. - Incorrecto:
Gabriel García Márquez has written many books.(A menos que creas que va a escribir otro desde el más allá).
already y yet?Present Perfect.

Preguntas frecuentes (8)
In American English, yes (e.g., 'I just ate'). In British English, it is much more common to use the Present Perfect ('I've just eaten').
'Been' means you went and came back. 'Gone' means you are still there. Example: 'I've been to the shop' (I'm home now) vs 'He's gone to the shop' (He's not here).
Because 'yesterday' is a finished time. The Present Perfect is only for unfinished time or times that aren't mentioned. Use the Past Simple for 'yesterday'.
No. 'I've got' usually means 'I have' (possession) in the present. 'I have had' is the Present Perfect of 'to have' (e.g., 'I have had this car for years').
Swap the subject and 'have/has'. 'You have seen' becomes 'Have you seen?'.
Yes, as long as you don't say exactly when. 'Humans have walked on the moon' is correct because it's a general human experience.
Been, gone, seen, done, eaten, had, and taken are used very frequently.
Usually, yes. 'I haven't finished yet' is the standard position in both speaking and writing.
