Experiencer Subjects: Hunger, Thirst & Feelings (mujhe... lagti hai)
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
In Hindi, you don't 'feel' hunger; hunger 'happens' to you. Use the dative case (mujhe) + the feeling/verb.
- Use the oblique pronoun (mujhe, tumhe, use) instead of the subject (main, tum, vah).
- The verb agrees with the feeling or the object, not the person experiencing it.
- Add 'lagna' or specific feeling verbs to complete the state.
Overview
mujhe bhookh lagi hai(I am hungry, lit: to-me hunger has struck). Common patterns: mujhe pasand hai (I like), mujhe pata hai (I know), mujhe dar lagta hai (I feel scared).
