Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

The -na- infix is your go-to for describing actions happening right now or in the present moment.

  • Place -na- between the subject prefix and the verb root: Ni-na-soma (I am reading).
  • It is used for actions happening at the moment of speaking.
  • In the negative, -na- is replaced by -ha- + subject prefix + verb root + -i.
