Completed Aspect (Naganap)

Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

The 'Naganap' aspect describes actions that are finished; simply change the verb prefix to 'nag-' or use the infix '-in-'.

  • For Mag- verbs, change 'mag-' to 'nag-': Magluto -> Nagluto (Cooked).
  • For -um- verbs, change '-um-' to '-um-' (stays same) or add 'n-' prefix: Kumain -> Kumain (Ate).
  • For -in verbs, use the infix '-in-': Bili -> Binili (Bought).
Root Verb + Past Marker (Nag-/N-/In) = Completed Action
