Form with nouns

Function as an adverb

If you want it to act as an adverb, you'd use 「〜に関して」 instead. This means 'concerning ~' or 'regarding ~'.

Formal tone

Don't confuse with 'について'

While similar, 「〜に関する」 is often more formal and can modify a noun directly. 「〜について」 is also 'about', but can be more general or less formal, often followed by a verb (e.g., 話す - to talk about).

Variations: '〜に関して' and '〜に関わる'

Remember 「〜に関して」 for adverbial use. Another similar phrase is 「〜に関わる」 (にかかわる), which means 'to be involved in' or 'to affect'.
