to Italy with a shiny new souvenir
around her neck. She is a two-time gold
medalist, one time silver medalist in
the sport of snowboarding. Please
welcome Khloe Kim.

[cheering] Thanks for coming. It's great
to have you here. Where's your medal?
Did the president take it from you?
>> My mom took it from me.
>> She did?
>> Yeah.
>> Does she hang on to them for you?
>> She does.
>> Do you not trust yourself with them?
>> I don't think she trusts me with them.
>> When you did you fly when you fly back
from Italy, do they make you put it
through the run it through the metal
detector?
>> Yeah. And it's always a thing.
>> Really? It's always a thing because on
the X-ray it shows up as this big like
black foreign object. They don't there's
no definition or anything,
>> right?
>> And so everyone's alarmed naturally. And
so they'll pull my back to the side and
they're like, "Do you have anything
sharp?" Like, "No."
>> And when they pull it out, do they get
excited?
>> Well, then this time around, I got used
to it, right? Cuz I brought two other
ones home.
>> Yeah.
>> AND SO [cheering]
>> [applause]
>> AND so this time I beat him to it. I was
like, "Is it the big black thing?" And
he's like, "Yes."
>> I'm like, "It's a medal." He's like,
"What kind of medal?" Like, "It's an
Olympic medal." And he's like, "Really?"
I'm like, "Yeah." And then he pulls it
out. He's like, "That's really cool.
Congratulations."
>> And then I'm good.
>> Better than most of the stuff they pull
out of the bag. [applause]
>> Did your mom come to Italy with you?
>> She did.
>> She did. Was that good having mom there?
>> Of course. I love my mom.
>> I love my mom. She's my best friend. And
I feel like now I'm at the age where
she's truly my best friend where she'll
