In Armenian schools, teachers use 'սխալ է' very directly. It is not meant to be rude, but to be clear. In the Diaspora, the phrase is often mixed with English, but 'սխալ է' remains the core way to correct someone. In Armenian offices, 'սխալ է' is used to point out errors in reports without beating around the bush. When correcting children, parents might use 'սխալ է' to teach them the difference between right and wrong.
