Basic Usage of Om

Om for Questions

While primarily 'if', 'om' can also be used in indirect questions, similar to how whether is used in English. Example: "Jag frågade om han kom." (I asked if/whether he was coming.)

Om's Position

In conditional sentences, 'om' usually comes at the beginning of the subordinate clause. Example: "Vi kan gå ut om solen skiner." (We can go out if the sun shines.)

Contrast with När
