Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use the plural verb form (ending in -u) to show respect to elders, superiors, or strangers in Amharic.
- Use 'እርስዎ' (irso) for formal 'you' instead of 'አንተ/አንቺ'.
- Conjugate the verb using the plural suffix '-u' (e.g., 'hed-u' instead of 'hed-h').
- Apply this to all verbs, including 'to be' (n-o instead of n-h).
