Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use 'বা' (ba) or 'অথবা' (othoba) to present two or more options to the listener.
- Use 'বা' for simple, everyday choices: চা বা কফি? (Tea or coffee?)
- Use 'অথবা' for slightly more formal or emphatic choices: আপনি কি চা খাবেন অথবা কফি? (Would you like tea or coffee?)
- Place the conjunction between the two items being compared: [Option A] + [Conjunction] + [Option B].
