Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
To make a verb negative in the past, simply add the '-me/-ma' suffix before the past tense marker.
- Identify the verb stem: 'gel-' (come).
- Add the negative suffix: 'gel-me-' (not come).
- Add the past tense suffix and person marker: 'gelmedim' (I did not come).
