The verb استخدام شدن (estekhdām shodan) is a passive verb. This is super important! Many learners make the mistake of using it in an active sense, which is incorrect. A common error is to confuse استخدام شدن (estekhdām shodan) with استخدام کردن (estekhdām kardan). You might be thinking in English, "I will hire for this job," and accidentally translate that directly into Persian using استخدام شدن for yourself. This would mean "I will *be hired* for this job."

This literally means "I became hired him/her," which makes no sense.

This translates to something like "I became hired a company," which doesn't make sense. If you want to say *where* you were hired, you typically use a phrase like "در شرکت" (dar sherkat - in the company).

While استخدام شدن means "to be hired/to get employed," it specifically refers to the act of securing a job, often a formal one. It's not usually used for very informal or temporary work. For general "finding work," you might use other phrases.

• If you just want to say someone found work in a more general sense, you could say: کار پیدا کرد (kār peydā kard) - found work.

• For being recruited or engaged for a specific task (especially if it's not a full-time employment), other verbs might be more appropriate depending on the context.

§ Not Conjugating Correctly

Like all Persian verbs, استخدام شدن needs to be conjugated correctly for tense, person, and number. The "shodan" part is the one that changes. Forgetting to conjugate it or using the wrong ending will make your sentence incorrect.
