Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

In Indonesian, possessive pronouns are simply attached to the end of the noun as suffixes.

  • Use -ku for 'my' (e.g., buku-ku = my book).
  • Use -mu for 'your' (e.g., buku-mu = your book).
  • Use -nya for 'his/her/its/their' (e.g., buku-nya = his/her book).
Noun + Suffix (-ku/-mu/-nya) = Possession
