Use the accusative suffix (-ı, -i, -u, -ü) when you are talking about a specific, definite object in a sentence.

  • If the object is specific (e.g., 'the book'), add a suffix: 'Kitab-ı oxuyuram' (I am reading the book).
  • If the object is general (e.g., 'a book'), do not add a suffix: 'Kitab oxuyuram' (I am reading a book).
  • The suffix changes based on vowel harmony: -ı, -i, -u, or -ü.
