Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Armenian modality changes the verb suffix to express necessity, possibility, or desire rather than just factual time.
- Use the 'piti' particle with the present subjunctive to express necessity: 'Piti gnam' (I must go).
- Use the conditional mood for hypothetical actions: 'Gnayei, yete zhamanak unenayi' (I would go if I had time).
- Use the imperative for commands: 'Ari' (Come!).
