Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Bengali uses proximity to define pronouns: 'এ' (this/near) vs 'ও/সে' (that/far) and honorific levels.
- Use 'এ' for someone or something close: এ আমার বন্ধু (This is my friend).
- Use 'ও' or 'সে' for someone or something further away: ও আমার ভাই (That is my brother).

Meanings
These pronouns identify people based on their physical distance from the speaker and the social level of respect required.
Proximate (Near)
Refers to someone or something within reach or immediate vicinity.
