Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
In Armenian, you can transform a word's function (e.g., noun to adjective) by adding specific suffixes to the root.
- Add '-ական' (-akan) to nouns to create adjectives: 'գիտություն' (science) → 'գիտական' (scientific).
- Add '-ություն' (-utyun) to adjectives to create abstract nouns: 'ազատ' (free) → 'ազատություն' (freedom).
- Add '-ել' (-el) or '-ալ' (-al) to roots to form verbs: 'աշխատ' (work root) → 'աշխատել' (to work).
