Basic Punctuation (ပုဒ်ဖြတ်ပုဒ်ရပ်)
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Burmese uses two main marks: the single bar (ပုဒ်ဖြတ်) for pauses and the double bar (ပုဒ်ဆုံး) for sentence endings.
- Use '၊' (ပုဒ်ဖြတ်) to separate clauses or items in a list: 'မနက်ဖြန်၊ အင်္ဂါနေ့၊ ဗုဒ္ဓဟူးနေ့။'
- Use '။' (ပုဒ်ဆုံး) to mark the end of a complete sentence: 'ကျွန်တော် ကျောင်းသွားသည်။'
