Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

To talk about the past with 'you', add '-le' for 'tumi' (informal) or '-len' for 'apni' (formal) to the verb root.

  • For 'tumi' (informal), add '-le' to the root: 'kora' (do) -> 'korle' (you did).
  • For 'apni' (formal), add '-len' to the root: 'kora' (do) -> 'korlen' (you did).
  • Negatives use 'na' after the verb: 'tumi korle na' (you didn't do).
Verb Root + (le/len) = Past Action
