Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

To make a verb negative in Bulgarian, simply place the particle 'не' directly before the conjugated verb.

  • Place 'не' before the verb: 'Аз не знам' (I don't know).
  • The particle 'не' is always written as a separate word.
  • In questions, 'не' still precedes the verb: 'Не искаш ли?' (Don't you want?).
