In Armenian, 'the' isn't a separate word; it's a suffix (-ը or -ն) attached to the end of the noun.
- Use -ը if the word ends in a consonant (e.g., 'գիրք' -> 'գիրքը').
- Use -ն if the word ends in a vowel (e.g., 'տղա' -> 'տղան').
- The suffix makes the noun specific or known to the listener.
Meanings
The definite article in Armenian is a suffix attached to the end of a noun to indicate that the object is specific, known, or previously mentioned.
Specific reference
Referring to a unique or previously mentioned object.

Generalization
Referring to a class of things as a whole.
