Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Complex sentences combine two or more ideas using conjunctions to create a smoother, more sophisticated flow in your Indonesian speech.

  • Use 'karena' to link a result with its cause: Saya senang karena hari ini libur.
  • Use 'tetapi' to contrast two opposing ideas: Dia pintar tetapi dia malas.
  • Use 'yang' to describe a noun with a clause: Buku yang saya beli itu mahal.
