Directional Prepositions
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Swedish distinguishes between 'where you are' (befintlighet) and 'where you are going' (riktning) using specific prepositions.
- Use 'till' for destinations: 'Jag går till skolan' (I am going to school).
- Use 'i' or 'på' for location: 'Jag är i skolan' (I am in school).
- Use 'hem' for 'home' (motion): 'Jag går hem' (I am going home).
