Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

To make a polite request in Burmese, simply add the particle 'ပါ' (pa) to the end of your verb.

  • Add 'ပါ' to the verb: 'စားပါ' (Please eat).
  • For negative requests, use 'မ' + verb + 'ပါနဲ့': 'မစားပါနဲ့' (Please don't eat).
  • Add 'ပေး' before 'ပါ' to mean 'do it for me': 'လုပ်ပေးပါ' (Please do it for me).
