Basic Pluralization
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Russian plurals change based on the last letter of the noun; remember -ы, -и, or -а/-я.
- Hard consonants add -ы: стол (table) becomes столы (tables).
- Soft consonants or -й add -и: музей (museum) becomes музеи (museums).
- Nouns ending in -а or -я change to -ы/-и: книга (book) becomes книги (books).
