songwriter, drummer, and record producer.
He's making his directorial debut
and starring alongside his son in the film "K-Pops!",
which opens in theaters February 27th.

And if K-pop is about boy bands and girl bands, well,
hell, this has got to be one of the greatest boy bands ever.
The Jackson 5. Yep.
To put in your little K-pop terms,
Michael Jackson would be the center,
the face of the group. -Ahh!
-The ace of all aces.
-In that case,
that makes BTS today's Jackson 5.
-That's right.
The Jacksons walked in order for BTS to dance.
They wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them.
And in order to know where you're going,
you got to know where you've been.

I am so happy to have you here.
I've been a fan for a long time,
and to get to talk to you about your directorial debut
is very exciting.
-It is, man. -And that's your actual son?
-Yes, I'm pretty sure. Yeah, yeah it is.
Yeah. -You got to act with your son.
And this sort of was born out of the fact
that you guys started doing skits and stuff
during quarantine. -Yeah, quarantine,
I was stuck at the house had to tap in with the kids.
-Yeah. -And, um,
he was obsessed with two things --
being a YouTuber and K-pop.
I didn't know about either of them.
-Right. -And I started tapping in,
and I saw his YouTube,
and he was playing video games and stuff
and I thought that was cool.
But I was like, "Son, we should do like some skits
and we should do some like, you know, funny bits."
And that's what I used to do with my sister is like,
we used to make home videos
and, you know, do all kinds of stuff like that.
And then I went over and saw this K-pop stuff,
and I was like, "Okay."
And that's when I knew I was becoming a parent
because I was like, "You don't know what that's really from.
I know you know about K-pop. What do you know about Tupac?
I know you know about BTS, what you know about BET?"
