Negating Present Continuous
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
To negate the present continuous in Bengali, insert the negative particle 'না' (na) after the main verb's progressive form.
- Identify the progressive verb: 'করছি' (doing).
- Add 'না' after the verb: 'করছি না' (not doing).
- Keep the subject-verb agreement consistent with the person.
Meanings
This structure is used to describe actions that are currently not happening or are not in progress at the moment of speaking.
