Reflexive Passive
se to describe actions where the doer is unknown, irrelevant, or general.
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use 'se' + 3rd person verb to describe actions where the doer is unknown or unimportant.
- Use 'se' with a singular verb for singular objects: 'Se vinde pâine' (Bread is sold).
- Use 'se' with a plural verb for plural objects: 'Se vând mere' (Apples are sold).
- The 'se' always precedes the verb in the passive construction.

a vinde (to sell). If you sell one car, you say se vinde o mașină. If you sell two cars, you say se vând două mașini. Notice how the verb vinde becomes vând to match the cars? The se stays exactly the same. It does not matter if it is today, yesterday, or tomorrow. The pattern remains se + [3rd person verb]. Just remember to check if your thing is singular or plural. Yes, even native speakers forget to match the plural sometimes, but you will be better!
