Overview
I goed to the gym verschickt und sofort den Stich einer roten Unterstreichung gespürt? Das kennen wir alle. Englische Verben sind meistens ziemlich freundlich; sie hängen einfach ein -ed an und machen Feierabend.go, have, do und make.went (gingst), irgendetwas had (hattest), irgendeine Arbeit did (tatest) oder irgendwelche Pläne made (machtest).-ed benutzen, haben diese vier ihre antiken, einzigartigen Formen behalten. How This Grammar Works
went to the mall. | Ich ging ins Einkaufszentrum.
had a pizza. | Wir hatten eine Pizza.
did a great job. | Du hast einen tollen Job gemacht.
made a TikTok. | Sie machte ein TikTok.
did not (oder didn't) und dann das ursprüngliche Verb.
didn't go.
didn't make a cake.
did, um die Frage zu beginnen, und behalten das Verb in seiner Grundform.
Did you go to the party?
Did they have fun?
did als einen 'Vergangenheits-Magneten'. Es zieht die 'Vergangenheit' aus dem Hauptverb. Sobald did da ist, ist das Hauptverb frei, wieder sein normales, grundlegendes Selbst zu sein. Es ist, als ob did der Elternteil ist, der das schwere Heben übernimmt, damit die Kinder (go, have, do, make) einfach entspannen und spielen können!

Common Mistakes
goed, haved, doed oder maked. Dein Englischlehrer könnte weinen, und die Autokorrektur deines Handys wird ein Training bekommen.Doppelte Präteritum. Das passiert, wenn Leute did UND die Vergangenheitsform zusammen benutzen.- ✗ Did you went?

do vs make auf. Generell, benutze do für Handlungen und make für physische Dinge, die du erschaffst. Du do deine Hausaufgaben (es ist eine Aktivität), aber du make ein Sandwich (du hast etwas Leckeres erschaffen). Wenn du ein Sandwich do (tust), könnten Leute denken, dass du ein seltsames Ritual mit Brot durchführst.Contrast With Similar Patterns
Leute verwechseln oft das Past Simple (I went) mit dem Present Perfect (I have gone). Auf dem A2-Niveau, merk dir einfach: wenn du sagst *wann* es passierte (gestern, letzte Nacht, in 2022), MUSST du das Past Simple benutzen.
I went to London last year. (Spezifische Zeit = Past Simple)I have been to London.(Generelle Erfahrung = Present Perfect)
Vergleiche sie auch mit regelmäßigen Verben. Regelmäßige Verben sind wie eine Uniform – jeder trägt das Gleiche (-ed). Unregelmäßige Verben sind wie Mode-Ikonen – sie haben alle ihren eigenen einzigartigen Stil. Played, walked und watched sind die Menge; went, had, did und made sind die Stars der Show. Behandle einen Star nicht wie einen Statisten!
Quick FAQ
Ist es immer went, egal wer spricht?
Ja! Im Gegensatz zur Gegenwart (wo wir go vs goes benutzen), ist die Vergangenheit für alle gleich. I went, you went, they went. Es ist eine Party, wo jeder eingeladen ist!
Was ist der Unterschied zwischen had und did für Mahlzeiten?
Du had (hattest) normalerweise Frühstück (hast es gegessen). Wenn du Frühstück did (tatest), klingt es, als wärst du der Koch oder hättest eine Aufgabe namens 'Frühstück' erledigt. Bleib bei had fürs Essen.
Kann did ein Hauptverb und ein Hilfsverb im selben Satz sein?
Absolut! Es klingt lustig, aber es ist korrekt.
Idid(auxiliary) notdo(main verb) my homework.
Wird made benutzt, um Freunde zu finden (making friends)?
Ja!
I made a lot of friends on my trip. Es ist eines jener abstrakten Dinge, die man 'erschafft'.
Warum hat Englisch so viele unregelmäßige Verben?
Weil Englisch eigentlich drei Sprachen in einem Trenchcoat ist. Diese vier sind aus dem ältesten Teil der Sprache und weigern sich, sich zu ändern. Sie sind stur, wie eine Katze, die nicht von deinem Laptop runter will.

Smart Tips
Stop! Think of the word 'went'. It's like 'sent'.
The 'didn't' is a past-tense vacuum. It sucks the past out of the next verb.
Always use 'did'. Did the laundry, did the dishes, did the cleaning.
Use 'had' instead of 'ate'. It sounds much more natural in English.
Aussprache
Went
Rhymes with 'sent' and 'tent'. Short 'e' sound.
Had
Short 'a' sound like 'cat' or 'bad'.
Did
Short 'i' sound like 'sit' or 'pin'.
Made
Long 'a' sound like 'cake' or 'lake'. The 'e' is silent.
Question Intonation
Did you go? ↗
Rising intonation at the end of 'did' questions.

FAQ (8)
No, that is incorrect. You should say 'I have gone' (Present Perfect) or 'I went' (Past Simple).
Because 'go' is an irregular verb. Historically, 'went' came from a different verb, 'wend', and replaced the old past form of 'go'.
Use `did` for tasks, work, and chores. Use `made` for creating something new, like food or a craft.
No. In English, we use the verb 'to be' for age. 'I was 20', not 'I had 20'.
Never. Always use 'didn't have'. The word 'didn't' already shows the past tense.
Yes! It is very common. 'I had a burger' means you ate it.
It is still 'did'. For example: 'Did you see him?'
Yes, but in very formal writing, you might replace 'went' with 'attended' or 'proceeded'.
