چهار فعل اصلی: Go, Have, Do, Make در گذشته

با مسلط شدن به went, had, did و made میتونی خیلی راحت و با اعتماد به نفس در مورد تجربه های گذشته ات حرف بزنی.

Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Master the four most common English verbs in the past: went, had, did, and made.

  • Use 'went' for past movement: 'I went to the park yesterday.'
  • Use 'had' for past possession or experiences: 'We had a great dinner.'
  • Use 'did' for general actions and 'made' for creating things: 'I did my homework and made a cake.'
Subject + [went/had/did/made] + Object/Place

مرور کلی

تا حالا شده یه پیام بفرستی و بنویسی I goed to the gym
امروز قراره بریم سراغ «چهار بزرگ»: go, have, do, و make.

2
The Transformation Table
3
Form | Example | Translation
4
Go -> Went | I went to the mall. | من به مرکز خرید went (رفتم).
5
Have -> Had | We had a pizza. | ما پیتزا had (خوردیم).
6
Do -> Did | You did a great job. | تو کار عالی‌ای did (انجام دادی).
7
Make -> Made | She made a TikTok. | اون یه تیک‌تاک made (ساخت).
8
The Negative Twist
9
وقتی می‌خوای بگی یه چیزی اتفاق *نیفتاد*، یه جادویی رخ می‌ده. فعل بی‌قاعده برمی‌گرده به حالت عادی خودش! ما از did not (یا didn't) استفاده می‌کنیم و بعدش خودِ فعل اصلی رو میاریم.
10
✗ I didn't went.
11
✓ I didn't go.
12
✗ She didn't made a cake.
13
✓ She didn't make a cake.
14
Asking Questions
15
درست مثل حالت منفی، ما از did استفاده می‌کنیم تا سوال رو شروع کنیم و فعل رو توی حالت ساده‌ش نگه می‌داریم.
16
Did you go to the party?
17
Did they have fun?
18

I went to the airport at 5 AM.
(اوخ، خیلی زوده! امیدوارم قهوه had (خورده باشی).)
  • Possession & Experiences: وقتی در مورد گوشی قدیمی‌ت یا غذایی که خوردی حرف می‌زنی، از had استفاده کن.
I had an iPhone 6 in high school.
    یا
    We had sushi for dinner.
  • Completing Tasks: از مشق و تکلیف گرفته تا جلسه باشگاه.
I did 50 pushups this morning.
    (پز بده!) یا
    I did the laundry finally.
  • Creating Content: این برای شبکه‌های اجتماعی خیلی مهمه.
I made a new playlist on Spotify.
    یا
He made a viral video about his cat.
  • The Zoom Life: تعریف کردن روزت برای بقیه به صورت آنلاین.
I had three meetings on Zoom today, and I did absolutely nothing in all of them.

  • ✗ Did you went?
  • Did you go?

Present Perfect (I have gone) اشتباه می‌گیرن. توی سطح A2، فقط یادت باشه: اگه بگی *کی* اتفاق افتاده (دیروز، دیشب، سال ۲۰۲۲)، *باید* از Past Simple استفاده کنی.

I went to London last year.
(زمان مشخص = Past Simple)
I have been to London.
(تجربه کلی = Present Perfect)

همچنین، اونا رو با فعل‌های باقاعده مقایسه کن. فعل‌های باقاعده مثل لباس فرم هستن — همه یه جور لباس می‌پوشن (-ed). فعل‌های بی‌قاعده مثل آیکون‌های مد و فشن هستن — هر کدوم استایل خاص خودشون رو دارن. Played, walked, و watched سیاهی‌لشکرن؛ went, had, did, و made ستاره‌های نمایش هستن. با یه ستاره مثل یه بازیگر پس‌زمینه رفتار نکن!

سؤالات رایج

Q

Is it always went regardless of who is talking?

بله! برخلاف زمان حال (که از go در مقابل goes استفاده می‌کنیم)، زمان گذشته برای همه یکسانه. I went, you went, they went. این یه مهمونیه که همه توش دعوتن!

Q

What’s the difference between had and did for meals?

تو معمولاً صبحانه رو had (خوردی). اگه بگی صبحانه رو did (انجام دادی)، انگار آشپز بودی یا یه وظیفه‌ای به اسم «صبحانه» رو تموم کردی. برای خوردن همون had رو بچسب.

Q

Can did be a main verb and an auxiliary verb in the same sentence?

قطعاً! خنده‌دار به نظر می‌رسه، ولی درسته.

I did (auxiliary) not do (main verb) my homework.

Q

Is made used for making friends?

بله!

I made a lot of friends on my trip.
این یکی از اون چیزای انتزاعیه که تو «خلقش» می‌کنی.

Q

Why does English have so many irregular verbs?

چون انگلیسی در واقع سه تا زبانه که یه پالتو تنشون کردن و قایم شدن. این چهار تا مال قدیمی‌ترین بخش زبان هستن و از تغییر کردن امتناع می‌کنن. اونا لجبازن، عین گربه‌ای که از روی لپ‌تاپت پایین نمیاد.

Smart Tips

Stop! Think of the word 'went'. It's like 'sent'.

I goed to the shop. I went to the shop.

The 'didn't' is a past-tense vacuum. It sucks the past out of the next verb.

I didn't had time. I didn't have time.

Always use 'did'. Did the laundry, did the dishes, did the cleaning.

I made the laundry. I did the laundry.

Use 'had' instead of 'ate'. It sounds much more natural in English.

I ate a coffee and a sandwich. I had a coffee and a sandwich.

سوالات متداول (8)

No, that is incorrect. You should say 'I have gone' (Present Perfect) or 'I went' (Past Simple).

Because 'go' is an irregular verb. Historically, 'went' came from a different verb, 'wend', and replaced the old past form of 'go'.

Use `did` for tasks, work, and chores. Use `made` for creating something new, like food or a craft.

No. In English, we use the verb 'to be' for age. 'I was 20', not 'I had 20'.

Never. Always use 'didn't have'. The word 'didn't' already shows the past tense.

Yes! It is very common. 'I had a burger' means you ate it.

It is still 'did'. For example: 'Did you see him?'

Yes, but in very formal writing, you might replace 'went' with 'attended' or 'proceeded'.

French moderate

French uses 'être' or 'avoir' as helpers, while English past simple is one word (went).

German high

German often uses the perfect tense ('ich bin gegangen') in speech where English uses the simple past ('I went').

Japanese low

Japanese has no 'do-support' (did/didn't) for questions and negatives.

Arabic low

Arabic doesn't have a direct equivalent for 'have' as a verb; it uses 'at' or 'with' + a pronoun.

Chinese learners must learn to change the verb itself in English, which is a totally new concept.
